  Jesus said, yet in the Law, only men could divorce their wives, have more than one wife and/or concubine, could sell his family into slavery to pay his bill, could own property including their own wives, that if a man only had daughters, they could not inherit, that if a single was raped, she had to marry her rapists, and the rapist could not divorce her, and the rapists paid reparations to the father not the woman, woman’s vow to god had to be approved by her husband, etc. The WTS/GB forgets to mention these or dances around them and finds specious explanations.

  Here is one scripture the Watchtower writer conveniently forgot to mention:

  Misogyny is the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against women or girls. Misogyny manifests in numerous ways, including social exclusion, sex discrimination, hostility, androcentrism, patriarchy, male privilege, belittling of women, disenfranchisement of women, violence against women, and sexual objectification.

  
  

  6 The Law that God gave to the nation of Israel provided details about marriage. It allowed for polygamy, a practice that existed even before God gave Israel the Law. However, polygamy was regulated, prohibiting abuses. For example, if an Israelite married a slave and later took a second wife, he could not diminish his first wife’s food, clothing, and marital due. God required that he protect and care for her.

  7 An Israelite man could divorce his wife if “he found something indecent about her.” The Law did not describe what was meant by “indecent.” It must have been something shameful or serious, not some petty offense. (Deut. 23:14) Sadly, by Jesus’ day many Jews divorced “on every sort of grounds.” (Matt. 19:3) We would surely not want to adopt their attitude.
  

  8 The prophet Malachi revealed God’s view of divorce. That was at a time when it was common for a man treacherously to divorce ‘the wife of his youth,’ maybe to marry a younger, pagan woman. Regarding God’s view, Malachi wrote: “I hate divorce.” (Mal. 2:14-16)

  God hates divorce but allows his misogynist followers to treat a woman with hatred, sexual pleasure, slavery, violence, and mistreatment as second-hand citizens.

  This article shows how the WTBTS feel the same about the woman of today as the nation of Isreal.

  In his opening statement, David Gnam, Watchtower’s lawyer, tries to educate the court about the (religious) practice of “disfellowshipping”.
  

  Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t use the word “shun” or “shunning”. They refer to it as “disfellowship”, “disfellowshipping”, “disfellowshipped” because that really gives the sense of what’s taking place within this particular religious community. “Disfellowship” literally means “no further spiritual fellowship” with the individual. […] The nature of the relationship, then, of a disfellowshipped person is not completely shunned. The disfellowshipped person is able to come into the congregation meetings, they’re able to attend in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, they’re able to sit wherever they like, they can sing the spiritual songs with the congregation. As far as their family members are concerned, normal family relations continue with the exception of spiritual fellowship… and, the door is not closed to Mr. Wall either. The person who is disfellowshipped can, after a period of time, ask to be reinstated in the congregation, because that is the purpose of the discipline.

Until then, we must respect Jehovah’s direction to “stop keeping company” with those who are disfellowshipped. (1 Corinthians 5:11-13) This is not easy.   A judge has ruled that copyright trolls need more than just an IP address if they want to go after copyright infringement. An IP is not enough proof to tie a person to a crime. From a report:In a win for privacy advocates and pirates, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that an IP address alone is not enough to go after someone for alleged copyright infringement. They ruled that being the registered subscriber of an infringing IP address does not create a reasonable inference that the subscriber is also the infringer. The case began back in 2016 and has been playing out in the legal system ever since. The creators of the film "The Cobbler" alleged that Thomas Gonzales had illegally downloaded their movie and sued him for it. Gonzales was a Comcast subscriber and had set up his network with an open Wi-Fi access point. At some point, someone had used his network to download the movie and the film creators captured Gonzales's IP address. The judge stated that in order for a proper case, the copyright owners would need more than just an IP address.

  Part of it's the pressure of three authoritative, respected men questioning you in a small room, kind of like getting interrogated by cops, they don't let up until they get what they want.

  I once asked my cousin who was disfellowshipped for fornicating with his girlfriend.. ''Why did you admit to fornicating with your girlfriend, when you knew that you would be disfellowshipped?''

  He answered, ''My conscience was bothering me?''

  I told him that every day there are thousands of judge and jury trials all over the world where defendants are guilty but make the court prove their case. DENY, DENY, DENY! They all live with guilty consciences. So, can you!

  ******* If you ever get pulled over by a policeman for driving over the speed limit, the first thing the policeman will ask you is, ''Do you know why I pulled you over?'' The answer should always be ''No, I do not.'' The reason why he asks the question is for you to incriminate yourself by answering, '' I was probably going over the speed limit."

  Why do Jehovah's Witness members incriminate themselves to any judicial process? How can three Elders conduct a judicial meeting with a 15-year-old teenage girl who supposedly was rumored to fornicate, took drugs or was drunk from drinking alcohol? Can she or the parents refuse to answer any questions?

  If you cannot have a lawyer present in your judicial meeting, it is none of their business. Just deny, deny, deny so you don't incriminate yourself. Just like you don't have to answer any questions a police officer asks you, you don't need to answer to three men who will be the judge and jury in your case.

  The judicial committee process clearly violates the 5th Amendment of the United States Constitution. The judicial meetings incriminate people and violate the "due process" that is needed.

  
  

  When one of Jehovah's Witnesses has committed what Watchtower considers a "serious sin", a judicial committee is formed. The committee consists of three elders from the congregation of the accused. No outside observers can be brought in to support the person on trial, nor can any recording devices be used. The elders are required to take notes, but the accused cannot. Does this kind of committee and procedure fit with historical, Biblical precedent?

  20, 21. (a) Why will we enjoy relative freedom in the new world? (b) How can we obtain a measure of that joy now?

  20 We keenly anticipate the new world.( We have only waited over 140 years) Most of us are looking forward to life without end on a paradise earth. ( ''paradise earth'' never appears in the Bible) Under Kingdom rule, mankind will be set free from the sorrows that characterize this system of things. Of course, even then, people will continue to exercise free will. Each person will make choices according to his or her preferences and desires. ( Actually, Elders will run the show with more rules and regulations. The rules are tight right now, let alone when Elders have more power and control. What are the choices, preferences, and desires that each person will have? They don't tell you!).

  21 Of course, such freedom will not be absolute. ( You knew that was coming) In matters of right and wrong, meek ones will be guided by Jehovah’s laws and his thinking.( If you reached perfection in this new system, why don't you know what is right or wrong?) This will be delightful, resulting in the greatest joy and abundance of peace. (Ps. 37:11) Meanwhile, we can have a measure of that joy now as we make Jehovah’s thoughts our own. ( Actually, since the ''faithful and discreet slave'' are running the show here on earth, Jehovah and Jesus are standing in the background. ''God's thoughts'' are replaced by the Governing Body and all their false beliefs, doctrines and practices).
